Halo Installation Trouble!

I am trying to install Halo: Combat Evolved demo on my computer. I have a Dell Dimension XPS T500 with Windows XP Home Edition. I don’t know if that helps, but anyway…. Every time I try to run “HaloTrialSetup.exe,” I get the error message: C:Documents and SettingsPeterDesktopHaloTrialSetup.exe is not a valid Win32 application. What can I do to install Halo?
