I have a good website developer designing my new website, but I’m wondering if it’s advisable to hire an SEO specialist to help me choose a domain name, discuss branding, and develop an SEO strategy.
@rootNov 19.2017 — #If you google SEO, you will find plenty of tip and SEO tricks but what you want is the youtube videos by Google Experts that tell you exactly what you need to do to have a site thats all SEO bells and whistles... Domain names have nothing to do with SEO, thats a matter of personal taste of whats available.
@NogDogNov 20.2017 — #If SEO is important enough to you, then you probably should hire an SEO expert (if your web developer does not fortuitously also happen to be one), much the same as you should hire a usability expert if that's important enough to you, a database expert if you expect large amounts and high volumes of data with many different analysis needs -- etc., etc., and so forth. Only you can answer the question as to whether it's important enough to you to warrant the cost. Or...you could launch the site, give it a bit of time to percolate, then see how its rankings are and whether it warrants hiring someone; but if it's an important enough project, I'd personally probably want to be more proactive. ?
If you want to design the website SEO friendly, then you can use the SEO tool. You can check your website from SEO tool in online and design your website SEO friendly.

IF you have a question of your own, start your own thread and don't hijack another's post, include a link to that post if it helps but please do not hijack a thread as its not helpful in getting you your answer any quicker, for example I only stumbled upon this post by accident and the very fact that its not had an answer means supports this hypothesis.
@Samer_RiadJan 03.2018 — #Please make sure to have the SEO guy at the very beginning of the design process. It is crucial to build everything based on good technical SEO. Otherwise, you risk of having issues later on.
@Samer_RiadJan 03.2018 — #For that you can use SEMrush.com, it will indicate if a backlink is bad for the website. Export all links to a document and then go to the search console to disavow those links. Details can be found here: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/disavow-links-main
You have to have your website registered on the search console first.
@DidierAubin87Jan 09.2018 — #you can research by yourself about SEO, however it will take many time to understand and execute SEO activities. Hiring a consultant is good, because he will instruct/guide you to build and develop SEO long-term strategy.
