@MstrBobNov 30.2005 — Indeed. I've been using it since the first beta release. It's gotten progressively more stable (of course) and the automatic update function worked flawlessly for me last time. Came out on the 29th, just like they said.

My only gripe is, of course, that some extensions aren't upgraded yet. I'm actually gonna mess around and see if I can't just modify the install.rdf files to get them to work.

Pretty cool thus far. Some annoying bugs are gone, no new ones have popped up, and new features include a real updater (instead of the old way of just downloading a new complete install each time), SVG support, and <canvas> support. Rock on. m/

@MstrBobNov 30.2005 — Well, I got all but LiveHTTPHeaders and URIID working. They throw up a bunch of Javascript errors, so they actually need to be upgraded. I can tell you right now, though, that Firefox's Javascript is a lot cleaner. Compared to 1.0, I used to get a bunch of JS errors from the crome in the Javascript console (I have javascript in strict mode to help me debug when developing) and they're gone.

Unfortunately, Firefox is still memory hungry. ?

@drhowarddrfineauthorNov 30.2005 — LiveHTTP is upgraded but I had to get it from the moz home page.

Thankyou kindly. The autoupdate hadn't caught that.

@BrollachanNov 30.2005 — I've probably got to wait until atleast this evening for the UK variation to be released, as the latest "English - British" release is still 1.0.7.

Yes, localized versions take a bit longer to get released - they rely on other volunteers to translate them. Firefox 1.5 Final is exactly the same as Firefox 1.5 RC3 (The MD5 hash is exactly the same, which means they're identical to the byte). However, I don't think any translated (or at least many) 1.5 RC3 were released. Give it a few days though and it will be out.

@CarolWDec 01.2005 — Does the WebDeveloper Toolbar work with Firefox 1.5? How do I find out which version of the WebDeveloper Toolbar I have? I'm suddenly overloaded and disoriented! But obviously, I should immediately upgrade to 1.5 from 1.07.

(Trying to do too many things at once for my poor olde brain)

@drhowarddrfineauthorDec 01.2005 — Yes, it does. I didn't even have to re-install it. I did uninstall FF1.07 but when I installed 1.5 the toolbar, along with all my extensions, worked automatically.

@Robert_WellockDec 02.2005 — Yes, they brought out the Web Dev Tool bar a while back for the 1.5 RC which I've being using for a long while.

I tend to be a bit disoriented (understatement of the year) - looks as though I should update my WebDeveloper Toolbar, as mine is, I think, the one that came out with version 1.0 of Firefox, or something like that. Where do I go to update? The automatic updates aren't pointing me there, as far as I can see (I think MstrBob made a comment about that).

The version I have *is* working fine, but why not update! Even to a web-weaver as disoriented as I am, that toolbar is indispensable! [heh]

And thanks to drhowarddrfine for bringing this up!

@IlikeMOzillaDec 04.2005 — The extensions all will have new updates in a matter of time. I use FasterFox and when i downloaded 1.5 it couldn't install but now it could

@KravvitzDec 05.2005 — Web Developer Extension

I've had the betas of FF1.5 installed but continue to use FF1.0.7 because not all of the extensions I use have been updated yet.

@ray326Dec 05.2005 — That's exactly why I'm going to wait a bit.

@drhowarddrfineauthorDec 05.2005 — Most of the extensions are updated but you may have to find the authors home page to download it unless you just want to wait for moz to update their extensions page.
