Learning PHP

[COLOR=royalblue]Hi everybody..

One o my friends, told me that she wants to learn PHP, and asked how shall she start with it.. Well, I told her about my the book I still use (as m still begginer in php) which is ” SAMS Teach Yoursefl PHP in 24 hourse” by “Matt Zandstra” …
even I’m not a good supporter for 24 hourse books.. but this one is perfect …

But I’de like to ask PHP expert same Question my friend asked me.. What shall I advice her and any other person who would ask me?

@scragarJan 10.2005 — I started by reading from w3schools and reading PHP from a few open source sites.

the best thing to do is read through simple projects, remember several short projects are easier to read than a single larger one.

@k0r54Jan 10.2005 — Well i am not a php expert yet, but i first started with that book and it really helped me understand alot of concepts, the problem was i had to rapidly move onto a more advance book as it really is basic.

To be honest though i learnt most my stuff from here.

I just post up a problem and then some1 will usually give me the answer but when they do i rly do learn from it.

This is where most my php knowledge had come from i have only been doin it for about 6-8 months but i really enjoy it!!

k0r45 .. me too .. the most of my knowledge is based on this sweet forum .. plus php.net .. u know i wish if i have enough time to read every thread being posted here.. but unfortunately, I don't have that much time ..
