@Stephen_PhilbinOct 18.2004 — Green triangle? Is this on Windows? If so I think you gotta move a file to the WINDOWS directory at some point. I could be wrong though, that might be part of installing php. I just remember seeing something to that effect as I was shuttling through trying to find the install instructions I needed.

You have read all the documentation to install it, right?

@ray326Oct 18.2004 — Is this Windows? Do you maybe have IIS running already? If so you'll have to stop IIS or use non-standard ports for all but one of the web servers you've got running.

@Stephen_PhilbinOct 18.2004 — Info, info. Do you have any other servers on yer PC? Tell us as much about your environment as possible. And as I suggested before, make sure you've read through the install instructions step by step.

Here's a quick-fire off-the-cuff random maybe it'll help kind tip too. I don't know how an apache installation behaves on windows but I do know windows software does try to be as idiot proof (and please don't get the wrong idea. I am in no way suggesting you are an idiot) as possible. So maybe it starts its self automatically?

If so, and if you are using a router, then you'll need to redirect traffic in your router. Use "Port fowarding" to foward any requests made on your router from a particular port (80 for simplicitys sake) to your computer on the network. So you basically say foward port 80 to whatever address your PC has on the network.

(you'll also have to check your public IP address quite often too. To make sure it's the right one for people to request for connections.

@MstrBobOct 18.2004 — No, if you type in http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1 , it'll point to the PC, and at port 80. Regardless of any internet/intranet/network.

You know that if it's port 8080, you have to do:

http://localhost:8080

Just checking.

Then http://localhost:8080/ should get you there.
