Making my first "real" website

Hello!

I’ve come to this forum because I’m desperate for help, so I help you can help me out.

I’m an amateur web-design/developer and followed a 1 year course and have been self-teaching myself for the past 2 years.

Together with a friend we’ve been assigned to make a company website for a family member of mine. Which should eventually look almost exactly like this [url]http://www.gustopiuma.nl/[/url]

Our knowledge goes as far as, Java, css, html, actionscript, sql, etc. and we’re thinking of using Joomla for this project.

Our main concern is the pricing of the website, seen we’ve never had to charge someone for making it.

The website will consist of;

-Selling system/food products
-3 languages
-Pics/texts will be given by the employer

The rest of the details can be found on the example website I’ve linked earlier.

My next question is if we can actually make it? Making a normal website is kind off easy nowadays, but making a selling system is totally new for both of us.

Does the employer have to make all the selling-related stuff? Or do we have to think of all the; taxes, storage, .. etc

Your client will usually add the products to the 'shop'. You create the framework for the site, then give the client the details for an admin area, then the clients can set their tax rates, postage, products and prices etc.
