Robots.txt Stopping Dynamic URLs

Hey everyone,

I recently changed my site over where we had a monthly publication and moved it to a new platform and links. Ultimately, I want all the old links to stop being indexed and showing up in my site search and thought the Robots.txt file would be the way to go.

By me having a line that states:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /*
?mid=
Disallow: /?mid=

^Will that eventually remove the links and have the stop showing up in my site search and stop any URLs containing “?mid=” from being indexed?

Thanks for your help!
