Maybe I am dreaming of a perfect world, but has VMware or any other virtualization company developed virtual applications yet? As in, can I run the VMware player/Virtual PC and have it virtually load IE 7 without the hassle of having to load an entire virtual OS with it?
It has just become a hassle to have development machines on standby, each with different browser installs (Safari for MAC, IE 7, IE 6, etc. etc. ) when having a virtual version of those applications one click away on my production PC makes a TON more sense. I know there are emulators on the web for this but this is also a pain and requires constant internet access and some are pay for play. Any advice would be much appreciated.
