Website updates and maintenance

Right… I am a dreamweaver user and upload all my sites using ftp.

Now, my first BIG project is a site that will let ppl submit pictures and I will update the site with their pics.

My question is, because there are is an archives section as well as a catergory section, what would be the best way to update and maintain these pages without running into broken links or the dreaded RED X Box?

Should I use templates?

PS: I have just signed up for my CIW course in webdesign. Wish me luck…:p

Guess I better wait till I have more knowledge.

*A person needs like 101 different programs to run one site... Photoshop for graphics and photos, Flash for flash movies and stuff, Dreamweaver for coding and its FTP capabilities to post the site onto the web... Now a CMS program to keep everything up to date. When does it end?*
