Web forms hosted vs local solutions?

Any advice for setting up a functional employment
application form for my client. Coding it myself will
take a lot of my time and would also require setting
up a server side backend along with security certificate.
Sound like a lot of work!

Then I’ve researched hosted solutions like
https://www.elbowspace.com/FRHformexample156

The only pitfall with this type of solution is the web address
the client sees is the web address of the web form hosting
company (ELbowspace.com in this case).

I could try embedding it in an iframe, but that might get messy.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

@NogDogMay 05.2017 — If you are going to be requesting personal data, especially anything sensitive like SSN, I'd be very careful about using an external site if you don't trust them as close as possible to 100%.

Depending on what the exact goal is of such a feature on their site, I'd personally be more inclined to create as simple a form as possible, likely including a file upload option so that the user can attach a resume. At its most basic, it could then simply(?) email the data to one or more recipients at the client's office, along with the file attachment. (Something like PHPMailer or Swiftmailer can make that easier, if using PHP.)

Thanks very much for the input.

I thought that all email is not secure. Wouldn't sending that info

over email put it at risk? The Elbowspace.com hosting solution offers

https connections for both the submission & retrieval of the data.

Do the tools you mentioned ( PHPMailer or Swiftmailer ) offer encryption? If so, how does it work? How does the private key get

passed from sender to recipient?

@NogDogMay 06.2017 — Email can be sent encrypted...and I believe those tools can do that as long as the mail client or SMTP connection being used is configured for it; but I'll admit right now to not being a real expert on that.

Email is just one possibility, I guess the other would be that the people in HR or whatever who would want to see the applications would have to log onto your system and view them, and maybe download the resumes. Now you probably need a database to store the submissions, and save the attachments somewhere on the server. No huge deal, but it does add some complexity and work to the job.
