flash taking presedence over dropdown menu

Hey guys any thoughts on this, I don’t have the site posted up yet so I can’t take you there, but I have a flash slideshow that I put in a CSS layer, I also have dropdown menus, when I preview the webpage, the flash object stays on top even when I mouseover the dropdown menu, the menu stays behind the flash object, which I don’t want to happen. I my layer order, I have the dropdown menu higher than the flash object, but for some reason the flash is taking presendence on the page. Any thoughts on what might be causing this?
thanks
Sean

@gil_davisFeb 16.2007 — Things like OBJECT and EMBED are referred to as "windowed" objects and they do not behave the same as plain HTML or even FORM objects. They take visual preference, and do not follow z-index rules. Your best course of action would be to move one or the other so they don't interfere.

Unless, of course, you're willing to toss the flash trash. ?
