Img Coords onclick

I have found a few threads on here about getting coordinates of the click, but not relating to my exact issue.

I want to click on an image contained in a scrollable div and retrieve the actual coordinates of the click relative to the image.

All the scripts & discussions I have found retrieve the screen x and y offsets, which don’t seem to help when only part of an image is visible in a div. Is it possible to retrieve the true coordinates of a click on an image even though part of the image is hidden in a div?
