The span tag, or Content Span element, is used to create an inline container in order to mark up its contents.

Syntax

By utilizing the class or id attribute, the <span> tag can be easily styled by CSS or manipulated with JavaScript.

<p>This paragraph contains content with a <span style="color:red">red</span> coloring.</p>
