New on the Block

I am new to JavaScript, have basic understanding in HTML, and have programmed in many languages down to machine language, but found myself to versatile since 1969 in computers to stay in programming by those I have worked for. I feel I have the basics and background but not the experience to do many things. Now I am taking up JavaScript to help me in my personal web site programming. I am looking for the terminalogy and guidance to place a web screen simular to a popup screen, in a new window, to show information but no input data other than to close the screen. What language, HTML, JavaScript, etc. is used? And where can I find some guidance to use the language? Thanks in advance.

@ray326Mar 16.2006 — The content of the window is still just HTML but you will definitely need to open it with Javascript (window.open()) in order to be able to set the size and other characteristics. We've got a Javascript forum here.

@CyberDeanauthorMar 16.2006 — Thanks ray326, appreciate the assistance, sometimes the starting point is more important than the prize at the end of the rainbow.
