I’m building my first ecommerce site and I’m looking for some advice on shopping carts for selling event photographs. Basically, the photos are uploaded by the photographer and are associated to an event ID #. To view the photos from an event the client goes to photographers website and enters the event ID.
I need a shopping cart solution that will allow the client to order various print sizes, quantities, surfaces (glossy, matt, luster) along with other products like frames and albums etc.
But there are so many free scripts and licensed solutions that I’m lost! I tried Squirrelcart which is very impressive but it won’t work for this project because each image would need a seperate db record fo each possible size+surface combination. This could result in dozens of db records per image!
What I want is for the product to be the print size + surface (4×6 glossy = product #4x6G etc) and then associate that with any of the images.
If it makes any difference I use Dreamweaver 8, PHP and mySQL.
