Open Window like F11

Hi,

I have searched everywhere for this, but all forums seem to return the same suggestions from people who aren’t reading the question properly.

I have a button which enables ‘Theatre Mode’. I would like clicking this button to have the exact same effect as pressing F11. The current window should expand to full screen, with no task bar or browser frame, etc.

Is this at all possible? If not, a simple “no” would be great ?

p.s. Please no opinions about whether or not full screen is morally wrong, scripts to open new windows or full sized windows. Press F11 – that’s what I want the script to execute if possible.

Thanks to all who can help clarify this for me.

@KeveyJan 17.2006 — Maybe this will help: http://javascript.internet.com/navigation/full-screen.html

I think full screen is morally wrong, as well as scripts to open full sized windows. ?

So that your solution is not proper, Kevey. Mig wants to fullscreen the current window. It is NOT possible to fullsize a window, unless the window is opened via a javascript method (than means a second window, a pop-up). And even so, Mozilla will keep the address bar, no matter you may try. The answer is simple. It can not be done. Maybe if the page is entirely made in Flash, yet I am not sure it will work in Mozilla even so.

I said "Maybe"

@KorJan 17.2006 — Sorry, Kevey, you have pointed Mig to the only possible solution. It's Mig who stubbornly tries to round the square...

@MigauthorJan 17.2006 — I am not being stubborn at all, just blunt because I wanted to avoid the outcome of all the other threads asking this question before, where the whole thing turned into an argument about how users don't want to have fullscreen, blah, blah, "here's a pop-up window", etc, etc...

You have both given me the answers I'm after, so I don't know what the problem is.

a) It's not entirely possible

b) The above link is the closest solution

Thanks very much. For your information, I think fullscreen sucks balls too, but I've been asked to find this information.

@KeveyJan 17.2006 — Hehe...we're just joking around brother...its been a long time since I've had sleep...its only natural that I should pick scabs! Hope you find what you're looking for! Peace out!

Exactly. Both your sentences are true. Boolean true ?

(Pssst... I think Mig don't like me, as my avatar picture is a part of Manchester United coat of arms, or Mig lives in London... ? )
