connecting 2 different sites

I’m a distributor for Viper Networks VOIP phones. I want my clients to be able to enter their name and password into my site … have it connect with the vipernetworks.com site … and allow them to enter into their acct. Then when they log out of their acct … to come back to my site.

I’m not sure what language to use, or if it is possible ( I think it is because e-mail people do it)

Thank you for your help.

ps: yes, I’m a noob =) ?

@Khalid_AliApr 02.2005 — Sound a bit tricky to me,

Usually for such purposes the sites have already a set API that allows any one to access certain resources. However if you want to directly access a secured area in a site that rings a bell of suspicion,...Why? and all sorts of other questions.

Can it be done? yes given the appropriate access to both sites and their resources

@mapleleafApr 02.2005 — Yes, it can be done.

Think of this..

After the loggon process has been completed and submitted AND then verified

using a windows open function to site you wish it to open to.

I would suggest tho that you first seek approval or permission form the site as they may have some security concerns.

There are many other techniques to that could or may be used or applied but the above is the better

If you want to just point to some one's site(which obviously will be available for direct acess without password) and you require password protection for it, to me thats the dumbest idea.

And as I said above to access secure parts of a website, there must be a permission from the other website as well as access to their API so that you can display reuired pages.

Please refrain from making such comments as
Yes, it can be done.

@nusenseApr 02.2005 — The people to discuss this with would be the service provider your attempting to use as part of your site.

Unless you approach them, they can simply dissable any attempt by introducing a look up to the refering URL (where they came from) and activly block anything you do in attempting to latch onto their resources, so ASK FIRST! always best policy, you may find that they offer 'Vendors' access to URL's of information etc in any case.

@rev_steveauthorApr 04.2005 — Thank you all for your replies ... there is nothing devious in my acts ... it's simply a matter of trying to have activations done at my site instead of sending clients to someone elses site. I will ask before I do anything (of course)
