Please help…what is this grey thing under header?

Iam alawyer and have no idea about html. I recently have a site designed for me but it seems when the page loads that there is a grey area under my header image which I don’t like and want it to be removed. The worst thing is that when Iam trying to put text navigation links under my header that grey area extends under the image. How can this be removed? Iam using frontpage for editing. Can someone give the exact instructions in order to remove that grey area. I’ll copy and paste it…that’s the only thing I can do?

I have no idea about firefox...as I said Iam clueless on html...is this a bad thing? I don't see to affect page's layout on browser but is it likely to cause any other problems?
