I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction or show me a website that would show how to set up my own web hosting for my own site on my own computer though a domain not a Ip adress.

a website from your home computer.

  • 1. Build your web.

  • 2. Install a web server program, you can find some freeware programs like this.

  • 3. The big thing - internet connection that never fails (He He He :p ). Set the Domain name you have to redirect to your home IP address.


    • This are the basics for running a website from home.

    The important thing is to check every now and then that your IP address hasn't changed, and if it did, update your domain name with the new IP address

    would that be able to run though my domain name and not a IP Adress?

Domain names are translated into IP addresses by "Domain Name Servers" (DNS). DNS allows you to type www.yourcomputer.com rather than '123.456.789.123'. It is not possible to be on the internet without an IP address.
