mailer.php email addresses

Hey everyone. First, I want to say that this site is very awesome. ?

I’ve searched the forum, and I didn’t see this question asked. I’m sorry if I missed it and this is redundant.

My question is this… I’m using the coding from this site about sending a form to an email address. It works fine for my own site, but I went to test a clients form using my email address, and it wouldn’t work. I can type things in, and it takes me to the confirmation page, but it wouldn’t send me the email. After hours and days working on it, I created a new email account for their domain. I put that email in my Outlook and in the mailer.php. Now it works just fine.

Why won’t it work with an email address that’s not directed to the same domain that the mailer is? I mean, if the email address in the mailer is directed to a different domain, why wouldn’t it still send it to the appointed email? Shouldn’t I be able to direct the form results to any email I want?

Any input would be apprecited.

Thanks,
Rebekah
