I have only been doing web development ofr about 3 months and am self-taught. I was wondering how hard it is to make an e-commerce site with php? I have already got some things together in the way of planning. But I”m not very experienced in some areas and my sql skills are very basic.

Should I use an affiliate program or do you think I can write my own?

@bathurst_guyJul 25.2005 — Depends, can you do it? If you know PHP, and even if your MySQL skills are basic, you can download phpMyAdmin to help you out with that.

Have a go at creating a small one, and if it works then go for it.

As long as you use nice standards compliant code and it does the job I have confidence in you ?

@dmoralesauthorJul 25.2005 — I"m more worried in doing something stupid. Leaving something insecure would not be good. What are the most important things to keep in mind.

A lot of my problem is just not knowing where to go or what needs to be done in what order. Any suggestions?
