‘page not found’ customisation?

If I own the domain www.mydomain.com and someone types in www.mydomain.com/blah.html – if that page doesn’t exist they’ll just get an error message.

Is there anyway I can re-direct them to a main page if the page they requested doesn’t exist?

My websites are hosted by an external hosting company.

@FangMay 23.2005 — See thread , it's the 404 error you are interested in.

@cusimar9authorMay 24.2005 — Thanks! For some reason the server wouldn't recognise the .htaccess file, but through my hosts's control panel I found a whole section dedicated to re-assigning these errors lol
