I have my own server. There is an access_log file that has all of the hits in it. It’s all jumbled up but I think I recall that I can read it if I try hard. If there is an easy way to read it, let me know. (I don’t know we have any log analysis software. If there is something simple, let me know.)
Anyway, I have a sitemeter counter on the main page and it’s good enough except most of the hits, it will say “unknown” as the referrer. Which doesn’t help a bit. I have no idea where those hits come from. So, I’d like to look at the log file. But it’s 200MB! Can I just delete it? Any harm there? It would start over and then I could look at it after, say, a day.
