New line code showing

$this->xhtml .= ‘<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN” “http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd”>n‘.

This is part of the code and thus the PHP continues on the next line. Still, the “n” shows up on my webpage.
