annoying banners…

heloo, new to web design and all…
set up a hosting thing with netfirms, obviously tho their banner goes right across the top. unfortunately, its a really ugly banner: although it doesn’t float… so…

i was wondering if its possible to do a page-jump down a bit (so the banner ain’t visible no more; so it does ‘under’ the browser header) from ANY other page? like a load-bang as it were? d’y get me?

any ideas?
