@David_HarrisonMar 18.2005 — #If you can access the command line (which you can in IE 6 XPSP2 because it sucks so bad) you can do pretty much whatever you want, including force a shutdown. I'm not going to tell you how to do that though, because even though I hate IE with a passion I know some people who use it and I have a heart.
MSIE like other browsers cannot directly connect to any local services or interact with the controls on the desktop for security reasons.
Please explain how you achieved this 'Shutdown' with javascript, javascript has many hidden powers but at all times, the web browser has no access unless you employ ActiveX controls to access the systems resources like hard drives ans other elements ot he local machine, all I WILL ADD has to be at the SURFERS CONSENTt, they have to acknowledge such things running and they dont run automatically.
If you dig deep enough, you will find why MSIE is used so extensively in Business over other browsers that DONT have as much functionality, fine for home users but these browsers as true buisness use have no competition over MSIE.
An example of shuting down the computer:shutdown -s -t 60 -c "I hope this teaches you to get a better browser, http://www.browsehappy.com"If for some reason you decide to enter that into your command line then it can be stopped by typing in "shutdown -a".
