Your thoughts on Oracle Database Certification.

Hey guys, what are your thoughts on going through the training required for an Oracle certification?

Although the training costs like 10grand++, do you think it’s definitely worth it?

As for credentials, will more companies hire a certified Oracle DBA compared to a regular DBA who has more experience? (I’m just wondering if I stand a chance in the industry of database administration.)

Also, how much do Oracle certified Database Administrators earn per year?

@buntineNov 30.2004 — It depends on the size of the company and the country it is based in. Personally, I dont think its worth the money. I have somewhat substancial experience with Oracle and I never needed the cert.

The credentials will definetaly be noticed. However, experience is the most important thing.
