Updated frame, new javascript instance?

I have a frameset that uses an external javascript amounst the different frames. My problem is when I update my navigation frame with a site map it seems to be starting and using a new instance of the external javascript.

How do I ensure it is using the same instance with the global variables that have already been changed?

@FangSep 30.2004 — #Only load the JavaScript in one of the (static) frames, then reference any functions or variables from that frame.
