Different companies for different things.

I was just wondering how easy it is to register your domain with one company and have your site hosted by another. I was thinking register with godaddy.com and hosting with Joker.com. Does this sopund like a good idea? I’ve heard lots of people talking about these companies and feel safe enough using them.

@johndoe190Sep 24.2004 — Im interested in the answers you get too dopple as im away to do the same thing. I think it has something to do with a nameserver you just enter that and your all ready to go but im unsure.

@pyroSep 24.2004 — It's very easy and yes, it's a good idea. When registering the domain, just put the hosting companies DNS numbers in. (You can also change them later.)

@spufiSep 25.2004 — When you register with go daddy, make sure to park it. This way you can order space from your web hosting company, and then go back later and update the DSN numbers later. That's what I did for my latest site.

@DoppleauthorSep 27.2004 — Thanks guys. I'm sure it'll be fine but it's the first time I've ever tried anything like this and I'm a bit weary about it but once it's all done I'm sure it'll have been a piece of piss to do.
