Table and image layout

Hi,

designing a site, have an image on the left hand side of a website, however when i try to place a table on the right hand side it appears directly below the image, i can only place it on the right hand side by using a style sheet and using exect pixel co-ordinates, i dont wish to do this though as it appears different with different size screen resolutions.

how can i do this?
