Would there be a noticeable slowdown of a server if it had to handle 6 XML files through PHP instead of just 2? Or would the slowdown be miniscule? I’m doing some crossreferencing between those XML files.
@NogDogAug 23.2020 — #Are you talking about breaking up 2 large XML files into 6 smaller ones, more or less keeping the same total amount of data; or are we talking about tripling the amount of data to be processed? The former might add a little bit of overhead (whether it would be noticeable depends on a bunch of unknowns), while the latter would mean more processing to convert that data into objects or arrays or whatever it is you do with them -- though again whether it's "noticeable" would depend on a number of factors.
@Mr_Initial_ManauthorAug 24.2020 — #I was thinking of breaking up one XML file into several smaller ones for ease of text editing--or at least splitting off two rather large portions of that XML file (the <Credits> element and the <CrossReferences> element). And I think my page may be a little pokey in the loading due to me testing through localhost on an old desktop computer.
