Webpage template

I’ve often written a template page and included my content

index.php?pid=23
where pid = “about-us.php”;

On my index.php page I have my header, menu, footer etc.

However, is there anything where I can just have an about-us.php add my page specific content on there any it’s embedded in my page when it’s loaded?
