how to insert a new line in file while writing in it

How can I place a new line while writing a data in it. I’ve simply made a file and entered some data in it e.g.

[code=php]$ID=12; $name=mir;[/code]

[code=php]fposts($fileName,$ID);[/code]

;

[code=php]fposts($fileName,$name);[/code]

;

now, file saves the data as

12mir

I want it to be stored as

12
mir

Plz tell me how can I do that.

fputs($fileName,$ID);

and

fputs($fileName,$name);

not fposts(). Sorry about that

[code=php]

$ID=12; $newline="n"; $name="mir";

// you can write the whole line once...
$line = $ID .$newline .$name;
$writeit = fputs($filename, $line);
