Installing a PM2 module in dev mode from local folder

Hi,

I have been looking for a way to install a PM2 module (pm2-logrotate) without internet.
I copy my PM2 library during the deployment and install it without internet (this is working already)

And I want to add pm2-logrotate module.

I made some research on how can I achieve this,
And I saw that in their documentation they wrote:
**# Install a module in dev mode from local folder
pm2 install .**

What is the meaning of installing PM2 in “dev mode”?
And is this the proper way for installing a PM2
module without internet?
if not, how can I achieve it?
