Can a fcgi program update in real time only a certain part of the webpage ?

Hello,

I am reading about fcgi and C++ interaction here.
If I am not wrong, fcgi application must rewrite the whole HTML content.

What about if I would like to update only a certain DOM of the HTML content, without rewriting the whole HTML content and make the changes visibles on realtime without reloading the page ? Is it possible to do that with fcgi ?

Thanks.
Simon
