As a web developer, is it your job also to write content for the site?

@toicontienApr 04.2008 — Only if you get paid for it, or if it's included in the contract ... in which case you are getting paid for it. If providing content is not part of the contract, then no. The client is responsible for creating content. You may ask the client to provide some sample content, but once you have the site done any content is the responsibility of the client, unless your contract specifies otherwise.

@XTREEMMAKauthorApr 04.2008 — Well like with my present employer, I was originally hired just to create websites for him. Coincidentally, since I know a few other things, I ended up setting up his entire home network, dabble a little in SEO for his website, considered somewhat of a "marketing" consultant, and now he wants me to write content for his site. Sounds to me that he's pushing his boundaries a bit.

@LeeUApr 04.2008 — It all depends on your situation. Jobs are tight but if you're not worried, you could say something. But then, the experience might be good also.
