Will certain words kill out google rankings

Hi everyone.

I run a fitness,bodybuilding site that talks about all sorts of things that are “Fitness”. How ever lately we’ve been doing articles on steroids and different types of steroids.
My question is will this hurt our rankings due to the illegal nature of them?
And if so, is it as simple as deleting those articles to get our rankings back up?
