HTML5 Website Tablet & Mobile Reformatting Question

Hello,
I am new to these forums and new to website design in general and was hoping I could get some insight regarding a problem I am having.

I am building a site using the template here (http://html5up.net/uploads/demos/arcana/) and have it so it looks good for viewing on desktop. When I look at the site on a tablet or on mobile, however, the size reformatting for those devices messes up the structure of the site and parts (e.g. the top of the page) get cut off. I read in the posting guidelines that posting large amounts of code should be avoided on forum posts so I’m trying to explain my issue without that.

My question is, is there a way that I could set the site to remain locked at the size it is on desktop regardless of the screen size of the viewing device? As it is now, it does not allow for left-right navigation with the keyboard arrows (just up-and-down). I think I would prefer if it could maintain the structure of the desktop version regardless of viewing platform.

Sorry if this is a little vague, I’m still new to all of this. I can include any files anyone would like to see and I greatly appreciate any help anyone can give. Thanks so much for reading and look forward to hearing from you.

Here is the homepage of the site (you can see the adjustment of size based on window size):

@jedaisoulJul 25.2015 — Hi and welcome to the site. I've moved this thread to the JavaScript frameworks forum because it is built using them. As to your query, if the template is not responsive, then you are going to have difficulty making it behave properly. The simple answer is either write the code yourself from scratch, or use a responsive template! ?

Oh, and by the way, your keywords are a mess and will probably be ignored by the browsers. Why?

- Too many keywords.

- Too many repetitions of the same words.

So you may benefit from cutting down to thirty words (or less), and loose the repetition.

@Justyz123authorJul 26.2015 — Duly noted, thanks Jedaisoul! Unless I'm understanding it incorrectly, I feel as though the template I'm using is responsive. My problem with it is certain things are getting cut off, etc. when the responsiveness takes effect on smaller windows (e.g. mobile, tablet). So, is it as simple as looking for a specific line of code in the javascript to kind of disable the responsiveness? Cause with the problems I'm seeing, if it did not adjust for different sized windows, it might look alright. Looks fine on desktop size I think. But my novice could just be over-simplifying the problem. If you had any ideas I'd really like to hear them though. ?

@jedaisoulJul 26.2015 — If things are getting "cut off" then either the template is not responsive as it should be, or you are using it wrong. And believe me, disabling the responsiveness will not help! Unless, that is, you ARE using it wrongly. ?

Success!
