Can you disable windows?

howdy:

i have a fairly complicated website manager i’m working on and i have an increasing number of forms associated with it. forms to change text colors, background colors, background images, etc. i have a link that opens a form that opens yet another window in a few cases.

i want to be able to disable a window until the user has dealt with one of its children/popups so that things don’t get all screwy. Is there a way to disable a window until a form is either closed or submitted?

for instance
admin pane, user selects ‘header preferences’
edit_header popup offers other options (‘choose image’, change font color, etc’) which open additional windows such as ‘colorpicker’. want to disable the edit_header popup until the user has either chose something from colorpicker or they click cancel.

anybody have any ideas?

@steelersfan88Mar 30.2004 — you can use fred's script that will keep the child on top, therefore not losing focus (it may need a tad of editing for all purposes), here it is: [URL=http://www.webdevfaqs.com/javascript.php#popupfocus]this link and section directly below it[/URL] ?

Note that you might use fred's and only set the focus if the data is not complete, that might be something you will need to edit, just a thought.
