So I’m a front-end developer (heading towards full-stack) and have been working in the industry for over four years now. I need a new project and was thinking about how overwhelmed I felt when I got my first web development job so I’m considering starting a blog for beginners now that I’m fairly comfortable with my place in the world. There’s already plenty of great web development courses out there and I’m not interested in reinventing the wheel so my focus would be more around knowing where to start, best ways to learn, how to stay motivated, how to get job, how to cope once you get a job and feel out of your depth, dealing with clients (which I found terrifying at the start!) etc. I’d also like to include practical tips and things I’ve learned from experience that I wish I knew a lot earlier and basic tutorials about common tools and best practices. I’m keen to be quite involved and develop a bit of a community with a “there are no stupid questions” mentality as I remember being quite intimidated by the online development community when I was starting out and too scared to ask questions at the risk of sounding stupid!
So my question is would anyone find this sort of stuff useful or is there already plenty of information and support out there? If you’re not a beginner anymore would you have found this information useful back when you were starting out? If not, what information do you wish you had access to at the time? If you are a beginner, what are your biggest struggles, what would you love to know how to do and what are your goals from learning web development? E.g. because I love coding, to make money, to have a career I enjoy etc.
