Need a Link on one page to select specific image in gallery on next page

Pretty much I have one page of products in a simple grid. When you click on one of the products, it brings you to an image gallery consisting of products from the grid on the previous page.

My issue is that when the gallery page is opened, it begins the gallery/slideshow on the first image in the list. I would like to make the slideshow begin on the product that was clicked on the previous page. I am hoping this can be done through editing the jQuery and adding a tag or something on the grid page.
