Disabling back

Does anyone have the following code?, i want it to disable the back button to stop users going to the previous page?

also, i have an image map and i want part of it only to be clicked on once,so after part of the image has been click on it will disalow any-one trying to click on it again.

Any suggestions for both/any of them??

@chrizauthorFeb 23.2004 — Well, instead of disabling the back button on the window can't i use javascript to detect if the user has already been to that page. If so pop up an alert box saying that they can't go there (So it's really like using cookies or something?)

Any ideas??
