Title tags is the most important part of a webpage. it is important to create a unique title tag for every page in your website. It play a considerable role in how well your pages will rank in search engines.
@parkerfrank32Oct 03.2012 — #Search engines read your web site title and page contents, and if your web site title matched and thematic to your page contents, then your page will ranked high for the keyword phrases used in the title tag. If your web site title text differs from your page contents, your rank will be zero. So be careful while preparing your web page title.
@hostultimoOct 03.2012 — #Title tags are not important if you are not looking to be found or if you do not care how your pages are indexed and viewed in google.
They are highly important for SEO matters and I would recommend that you have custom title tags for each page since I am sure that your home page has completely different information than your contact page, services page, about us page etc.
You should always consider the appropriateness of your title tags especially when it relates to the actual content on the page! In other words, it will be totally useless if you have a title tag that says "Dogs are the BEST!!!" when your content clearly is about "Hospital Food benefits"
Hope this helps clear up any issues you may have ?
@MartinlabsDec 17.2012 — #A title tag is the main text that describes an online document. It is the single most important on-page SEO element (behind overall content) and appears in three key places:
Page title is the more significant feature for the OnPage Optimization. Title tag should be relevant to the webpage content. If we did mistake in choosing title tag then our effort in SEO is useless..
@DarrenLoisDec 24.2012 — #Hi, title tag is the main part of on page seo it help you to make your website rank in search engine, but you have to folloew some rule, you have to create unique title tag for each page and dont repete the title in other pages and make sure that the title should be relevant to the page.
@pramodkramJan 28.2013 — #Title Tag & Meta Description both plays very important role towards Search Engine Visits, if they are set according to the page content. Search Engine uses that information to show the results when anyone searches for your Keyword related term.
@stephanjamesJan 28.2013 — #The Title-tag is one of the most important pieces of information for a search engine. The Title-tag should describe exactly what the web page contains. It should contain keywords, but not repeats, of terms you hope to be found for. It should also be as readable as possible. The Title-tag will be the first thing someone sees in a search result.
The Title-tag should be no longer than 70 characters and should contain words and phrases that accurately describe the content of a page. Try to make the Title-tags located throughout your site unique and relevant. Every word in the Title should be contained somewhere on the page they are used for. Research has also shown that a strong call to action will usually produce more clicks than a basic description.
The META-tag is used to store information about a web page but is not actually displayed in a web browser. For example, META-tags provide information such as what application was used to create the page, a description of the page, and keywords that are relevant to the page. Many search engines use the information stored in META-tags when they index web pages.
As I stated earlier, META-tag information is not displayed in a web browser. However, if you view the source code of any web page you will see the HTML code behind that page. To see the code, simply go to any website using Internet Explorer and click "view" then "source."
