Web Hosting Preference

Hi webdeveloper.com,

I am a web developer for 4years already and I decided to start my own website soon.

My project targets local users.
And I want to know if web hosting location will affect the performance of my website.

Let’s say If I am from Singapore, is it advisable that my hosting to be in singapore also?

It is obvious that local web hosting charge lower rates than foreign web hosting but I want to know if the hosting location would affect the performance.

Right now I am using a free web HOSTING provider:

clanteam.com

and running my own domain name via

namecheap.com

This amounts to $9.98/yr

That's pretty cheap. It has a few limitations, like limited .htaccess use, but who cares! 10 bucks a year!

But if your looking for high-quality, fatcow.com is the way to go.

The location of your host server does not make a big difference - i have personally never experienced it - so you should be fine hosting from anywhere in the world - although I would recommend within EU or the U.S.
