Why isn’t my site being indexed by Google?

I designed a site for a client a couple weeks back and for some reason it’s not being indexed by google. I submitted it.. but nothing.. So then I made a site map…. but still nothing. ???I’m at a loss and needless to say my boss and her client aren’t thrilled.

I thought it might be a faulty meta tag.. but those all look clean.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you soo much!

@developerguruMar 15.2011 — It will better if you can provide the link of the site.

If google is not indexing your site then create a account in google analytics, this will help you to find out the problem that you are facing with your site.

@rebelweb2007Apr 13.2011 — The main thing you need to do is to make your domain visible. I would put it in your signature on here, leaving your it for everyone and Google bots to see. I would also recommend a blog to help keep new content coming making it more prominent. Using social networking like Facebook helps. Your inbound links help Google get to it faster.

@WandaApr 13.2011 — Like the previous posters already told: it can have several reasons. You can have wrong information in the robots meta tag. the bots can be blocked by robots.txt, the site can be banned by the search engine, etc...

It will help us when you provide us your site.

@joe12joeApr 26.2011 — My point of concern would be the content of a website. It may not be unique because recently Google has been very strict about the quality of a content in a website.

If the content is fine, you may do the social bookmarking of your site in few higher PR sites and wait for few days. It would be indexed.
