I need help understanding rss and blogging. Ok, 1: create xml file. (i know xml so this is not the problem.) The steps after that. 2:what now? 3:what now?
breaking it down like this is easier for me to understand.
@Lotus9Oct 10.2005 — #What site are you using for your blog? Blogger, Wordpress? Other? I am pretty sure all the major ones have built in feeds. I know Blogger does, because I have an account with them. What exactly are you looking to do? An rss feed, is a way for you to syndicate the content on your site. If you have an account with Blogger, than every time you write a new entry, your .xml file is automatically updated with the new info. It's great, and so easy to manage, because it works all by itself. All you need at this point is the URL to where the .xml is located. On blogger it is, http://yourblogname.blogspot.com/atom.xml
You can create image links(those lil' orange xml buttons you see on all the big sites) and just link them to the .xml file. If someone is interested in getting your daily headlines, than they can take your .xml feed and add it to their fav rss reader, and voila. That's pretty much it.
