PHPlist custom labels ?

Hi,

I am a TOTAL newbie to PHP. Using it mainly for a few forms handling (through purchached scripts) and managing our customers database with PHPlist. So far I’ve been successful installing and configuring PHPlist properly. Been using it for several months and getting more acquinted with it everyday.

My problem: I am setting up custom subscribe pages from within PHPlist’s admin console, and they work fairly good. However, PHPlist doesn’t seem to offer a way to ‘name’ my fields with [B]labels [/B]that would be different from the database’s field names.

Example: [url]http://www.papa-luigi.com/vip/?p=subscribe&id=7[/url]

Instead of the list going like this:

cust_title —> Entry box with ‘M. ou Mme’ inside set as default
cust_forenames —> Entry box with ‘Votre prénom’ inside set as default
cust_surname —> Entry box with ‘Nom de famille’ inside set as default
cust_company —> Entry box with ‘Employeur’ inside set as default
cust_address1 —> Entry box with ‘Votre adresse’ inside set as default
etc.

I would want to know how I can setup LABELS to display visitor-friendly field names while keeping the database field names to what they are (cust_…). I want my custom subscribe form to look like this:

M. ou Mme —> Empty entry box (or a default value)
Prénom —> Empty entry box
Nom de famille —> Empty entry box
Employeur —> Empty entry box
Adresse —> Empty entry box
etc.

I know I’m not able to do this right in PHPlist’s console or admin and will most likely have to tweak some code in it. I would need guidance from anyone out there familiar with PHP and PHPlist to help me achieve this.

If it’s easier done, I am willing to lose the ‘color coded’ functionality for required fields and replace it by **. Of course it would be nice if I was able to just create labels of my choosing that would be red for required fields.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
