i have a component and module working together which display a list of link on my homepage.

what i want to do now is to have it so that each time a link is clicked, that a hit for that link is recorded.

i am using mysql and php.
i have a column in my table for it already.

the query and all is simple to do, the issue is joomla.
normally i would just have the link direct to an internal page with the id number of the link from the database.

but with joomla it’s not that simple because all of the joomla variables are not there, variables such as the credentials for the database..

anyone have an idea?

@toicontienJul 15.2008 — I've had some experience developing for Joomla. Try out the Joomla website -- www.joomla.org -- and look at the documentation. Maybe post this question in the Joomla forums? They have forums specifically for module/component creation.
