start playing video in windows media player from some point other than the beginning

I need to be able to play embedded videos in web page using windows media player to play from some point other than the beginning – depending on user input or selection – so the start point would need to be set using code/function call and not using the seek/track bar as that would not be accurate – not sure if this is possible or if there is any way around it.
