Hello.
I have a quick question about SEO and using AJAX to fill portions of a page with content.
For example, let’s say I’m making a site about colours, so I’d have my pages accessible by the following addresses:
mysite.com/red/
mysite.com/green/
mysite.com/blue/
mysite.com/orange/
…and so on. This is great for SEO, but say I wanted to make my pages more user-friendly and to swap the page content for each colour using Ajax, so the user would just click on a colour and the relevant content would be loaded into the page asynchronously.
So the user would always see:
mysite.com/
And the Ajax requests might look something like:
mysite.com/red/?ajax=yes
The problem here would be that there are two ways to view the same information, through Ajax and through the static links. So my question is, would this hurt ranking in search engines? And how is content that is to be normally served through Ajax optimised for SEO?
Thanks!
